The Graduate Certificate in Data Science and Decisions aims to produce professionals who are skilled in the manipulation and interpretation of large amounts of data.

You will develop your data skills across three key areas - mathematics and statistics, computer science and economics - and be ready to meet the extraordinary demand from employers around the world for talented data scientists.

The short and flexible program features a core course in the Fundamentals of Data Science, as well as electives including Foundations of Computer Science, Business Economics and Multivariate Analysis.

The degree is taught by outstanding educators from the award-winning School of Mathematics & Statistics in the Faculty of Science, the School of Computer Science in the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Economics in the Faculty of Business.

Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate you can apply to transfer into the Graduate Diploma of Data Science and Decisions.

Entry requirements

To gain entry to this program, students must:

  1. Have completed a Bachelor of Mathematics OR a Bachelor of Science with a major in mathematics, statistics or Computer Science OR a Bachelor of Data Science and Decisions OR a suitable cognate degree as determined by the program authority

AND

  1. Have sufficient Mathematics and/or Statistics and/or Data Science background, as indicated by an average of 65 or above in appropriate level III university courses
