Entry requirements

Students must have completed the UNSW Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of International Studies or Bachelor of Social Science or other recognised Level 7 qualification with a major in a stream offered in the program. Students in a double degree must have completed 144 UOC including all requirements for the Arts, International Studies or Social Science component. Entry to Honours requires a WAM of 70 or higher (or equivalent) in the stream(s) seeking to be further studied. It is subject to resources and the approval of the Head of School in which the stream(s) is/are based.

The conferral of the honours degree for double degree students is subject to students completing all requirements of the double degree. Students who subsequently withdraw from their  double degree after the completion of honours will only be conferred the honours degree if they have met all requirements for the single degree.

Students intending to apply to the Honours program must first discuss their eligibility and study program with the Honours Convenor in the relevant school prior to submitting an application.

2021 Indicative First Year Fee


Commonwealth Supported Place, Student Contribution Band 4 \ *The student contribution for a Commonwealth Supported Place is an indication only of the amount payable in Year 1 based on a standard full-time load of 48 credit points (1.0 EFTSL). The actual student contribution you will be liable for depends on your individual program of study and the calendar year in which you enrol. Actual fees are calculated upon enrolment. Student contribution amounts are subject to annual review by the University and may increase each year during your studies (subject to caps determined by the Australian Government), effective at the start of each calendar year.
