Overview

The Master of Business (MBus) aims to develop excellent managers for the public, private and not-for-profit sectors including defence. It provides students with an advanced understanding of the concepts and principles that underpin effective management, business decision making and leadership as well as analytical skills they can use throughout their career. The degree combines a core set of business courses. The Strategic Management course is considered a capstone component and students can also select other subjects related to their interests. The degree has the option to do a research-based project that will lead to future research-focused degrees.

Entry requirements

Have met the requirements of a four year Bachelor degree or a Bachelor degree with Honours in a cognate area with a major in a same or related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution; or Have met the requirements of a Graduate Diploma from UNSW in a same or related discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution; or Have met the requirements of a three year Bachelor degree in a cognate area at pass level, which includes a major in a same or related discipline, from a recognised tertiary institution, and have completed at least three years relevant full-time work experience; or Submit evidence of academic and/or professional qualifications and/or related work experience which is determined by the relevant Program Authority to be acceptable grounds for admission into the degree.

Credit transfer

On applying for entry to the MProjMgt program, a student maybe eligible to apply for RPL for courses that have completed in a previous postgraduate program at UNSW or at another university. If they have completed a previous masters program, they may be eligible for up to four courses (24 UOC or 50% of the requirements of the MProjMgt).
